Pixapp

A social marketplace for artists, built bootstrapped

My role Led growth

Pixapp’s Instagram profile on an iPhone, with artists’ work filling the grid

Project overview

Pixapp was a social marketplace for artists. You uploaded your art, and it could be sold on prints, home decor, mugs, phone cases, tote bags and T-shirts — all from your phone.

It was bootstrapped, and within six months in 2018 it grew to 3,000 merchants and 50,000 monthly active users, picked up more than ten press features, and built a social following from zero to 25,000 at its peak.
